Nurses
The First Surgery Clinic has 51 nurses and 4 qualified assistents in
all the activity sectors as follows :
- 16 nurses - operating rooms
- 7 nurses - dressing rooms
- 27 nurses - wards
- 2 nurses - radiology lab
Among this staff, 30 nurses graduated from
a sanitary college, 20 from a sanitary school and attended equivalating
courses to obtain the title of nurse. 10 nurses passed the exam for
principal nurse and 2 nurses passed the exam for becoming chief nurse.
More than 50% of the nurses working in operating
rooms are specialized in videosurgery. 2 nurses graduated a minimally
invasive surgery course in Belgium and they are in charge of the laparoscopic
equipment.
In Assistance of Patients with Colostomy
Program work nurses which graduated a specialization course in England.
Also, the chief nurse graduated the course "The Care of Critical
Patients", "Infectious Disease Control" organized by
Baylor University Medical Center and Nursing Association as well as
the course or- ganized by CDC Atlanta and the Public Health Institute
of Bucharest in the Control and Management of Nosocomial Infections
National Program.
Continuous improvement is achieved in our
clinic by monthly sessions and in the hospital by periodic sessions
for the nursing staff. All the nurses in the clinic are registered in
the Nurses College.
Mean age for this staff is estimated between
30-32 years, with a work experience from 2 to 25 years. We believe nurses
competence as being superior considering the high difficulty of the
activities from this clinic.
